Grief Support - A Different Approach

VNA will be facilitating a new approach to grief support. The group will be facilitated by Linda Hopkins, Grief and Bereavement Coordinator, and Lois Leonard Stock, LCSW and artist.  They will lead the group and start with a quiet activity using visual art  as a  non-verbal way to connect with one’s spirit and provide relief from physical and emotional pain.

Is it difficult to find words to express the depth of your grief in the loss of a loved one?

This six-week grief support group offers the opportunity to express your grief visually using symbols from spiritual traditions and cultures around the world. After a brief informative session about the activity planned for the evening, we will work with symbols and color in a peaceful, meditative environment followed by time to share with the group. No artistic skills are needed.

The group will be held on six Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 starting May 9th and ending June 13th  at VNA Home Health Hospice in South Portland.
Please call Linda Hopkins at 400-8714 to register or for more information.
